Fool
"Fool"
written by Roger ParkerHe didn't think he had it - the skill
To make it out on his own.
"Things will be how
They are meant to be,"
She said, curiously.
It didn't take a fool to realize,
The Jester's no longer entertaining.
He didn't think he had the skills
To leave a legacy behind,
Flicking his cigarette to the floor
He flashed back to her:
"You're a seductress,"
He said,
"Girl, you are bewitching."
Her resounding sigh,
"I've played this longer than you."
It didn't take a fool to realize,
The Jester's no longer entertaining.
Retiring at the King's recommendation,
Those bells no longer sound.
