"Ohio"
written by Roger Parker
Breaking new ground,
He steps into this persona.
"I grew up too fast," he said,
"Go be extraordinary
Then come back to me," she replied.
He had built himself up,
Piece by piece:
Finding out what it means to be a man
On foreign soil.
His father hadn't prepared him
For this violent thunderstorm approaching,
Mind shattering with possibilities.
He left her back in Ohio,
Left behind his childhood,
He left her behind in Ohio,
In Ohio.
